About Milford
Milford Athletic Football Club is a junior football club for boys and girls of all abilities aged 5 to 16.
Based in Stafford. We currently support over 250 players, with multiple teams at each age group, training and playing across multiple locations including Wildwood Park. Our players are supported by 30+ fully qualified and DBS checked coaches, delivering structured training and competitive match football in line with FA guidance. While competition is an important part of the game, winning has never been our sole focus. Player growth comes first, always.
At Milford Athletic, growth means far more than results on a league table. It means building confidence, developing technical ability, learning resilience, and helping every child feel valued, supported, and positively challenged. We believe enjoyment, development, and standards can exist together, and that football should be fun while still being purposeful. Not every child wants to be elite, but every child deserves to be taken seriously and given the opportunity to grow.
Founded in 2008, Milford Athletic began with a simple belief that children in the local area should have the opportunity to play football, regardless of background or ability. The club started with a small number of children attending early sessions and grew steadily through determination, consistency, and strong community support. Eighteen years later, Milford Athletic is a respected, community led club with a strong reputation built on trust, care, and the positive experiences we create for our players and families.
Our coaches are chosen not just for their qualifications, but for their character, consistency, and commitment to development. We recognise that a child’s experience is shaped by the people around them, which is why we place such importance on creating the right environment. Through football, team activities, and social events, we help players grow socially as well as physically, supporting confidence, teamwork, and a sense of belonging.
We are proud of our history of league and cup success, but trophies are never the measure of our impact. Success is a by product of development, teamwork, and enjoyment done properly, and we believe those values lead to better football and better people.
As we continue to grow across our locations and invest in facilities and people, one thing will never change. Every child should leave Milford Athletic better than they arrived, not just as footballers, but as people.
